Wakeland High School has three performing Concert Bands. All musicians perform a solo and in a chamber ensemble during the spring semester and student musicians also compete in the TMEA All-State audition process.
WIND SYMPHONY
The Wakeland High School Wind Symphony is a consistent Texas University Interscholastic League Concert and Sight Reading Sweepstakes Winner. The Wakeland Wind Symphony is a four-time Texas Music Educators Association 5A Honor Band finalist. In 2018, the Wakeland Wind Symphony was named National Winner in the National Wind Band Honors Competition.
SYMPHONIC BAND
The Wakeland High School Symphonic Band is a consistent Texas UIL Sweepstakes recipient. The Symphonic Band is made of students grades 9-12. The students get the opportunity to work on ensemble skills and individual practice through all-region auditions and solo contest.
